Education

Today’s labor market demands lifelong learning – and we are fortunate that Jacksonville is home to many highly respected educational institutions. Whether you want to continue your education in a traditional college or university, through a trades-oriented program or with short-term training, you can take advantage of numerous benefits and services available to veterans. In certain cases, help is available to qualified dependents.

Dependents Educational Assistance

The VA provides educational and training benefits to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition, or who died while on active duty or due to a service-related condition. The program offers up to 45 months of educational benefits. These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs, and registered apprenticeships. If you are a spouse, you may take a correspondence course.
